Egeprocessionsspinder (Thaumetopoea processionea) er en natsv\u00e6rmer. Dens larver er let genkendelige p\u00e5, at de altid optr\u00e6der i flok og hyppigt kravlende i lange r\u00e6kker (heraf tilnavnet procession.<\/p>\n

Egeprocessionsspinderens larve kaldes uformelt larven fra helvede.<\/p>\n

Sm\u00e5 giftige larveh\u00e5r<\/h2>\n

Selve den voksne natsv\u00e6rmer er harml\u00f8s. Larverne gennemg\u00e5r 6 larvestadier. I de f\u00f8rste tre stadier er larverne gulbrune.<\/p>\n

Det er kun de tre sidste larvestadier hvor larverne er mere gr\u00e5lige med en sort midterstribe, hvor de er forsynet med utallige sm\u00e5 h\u00e5r (setae), der virker giftige grundet toksinproteinet thaumetopoein.<\/p>\n

Toksinen thaumetopoein frigives, n\u00e5r de sm\u00e5 spr\u00f8de h\u00e5r g\u00e5r i stykker.[1] De sm\u00e5 h\u00e5r er kun 0,1-0,2 mm lange, s\u00e5 de er usynlige og der kan v\u00e6re op til 700.000 af dem p\u00e5 en larve. <\/p>\n

De sm\u00e5 h\u00e5r frigives, n\u00e5r larven f\u00f8ler sig truet.<\/h2>\n

Kommer mennesker eller dyr i kontakt med de sm\u00e5 h\u00e5r, udl\u00f8ses toksinet som resulterer i dermatitis (eksem) i form af et ekstremt kl\u00f8ende udsl\u00e6t med bl\u00e6rer og r\u00f8de plamager.<\/p>\n

Det kan ved l\u00e6ngere kontakt med larvernes sm\u00e5 h\u00e5rs toksin udl\u00f8ses varig allergi.<\/p>\n
