Roms\u00f8 er en 1 km\u00b2 stor \u00f8 i Storeb\u00e6lt ca. 10 km nord\u00f8st for Kerteminde. Den 109 hektar store \u00f8 har siden 1604 h\u00f8rt under Hverringe Gods, ejet af familien Iuel Reventlow. <\/p>\n

\u00d8en er en del af Kerteminde Kommune.<\/p>\n

Der har boet ca. 50 mennesker p\u00e5 \u00f8en, indtil landbruget h\u00f8rte op omkring 1961. Efter at \u00f8ens faste bestyrerpar gennem 19 \u00e5r flyttede i 1996, har \u00f8en v\u00e6ret ubeboet. <\/p>\n

De tilbagev\u00e6rende 8 huse benyttes som sommerhuse, der udlejes af Reventlow familien. Roms\u00f8s beplantning, i alt 40 hektar, blev fredet i 1955, men ikke Maden, og fredningen ber\u00f8rer ikke landskabsformerne og klinterne. <\/p>\n

Fredningens form\u00e5l er at bevare de m\u00e6rkv\u00e6rdige tj\u00f8rne p\u00e5 nordkysten, at sikre skoven som l\u00f8vskov med danske tr\u00e6er samt at bevare \u00f8ens steng\u00e6rder. <\/p>\n

I fugleomr\u00e5det Maden, umiddelbart nord for anl\u00f8bsbroen, er der siden vedtaget et adgangsforbud i fuglenes yngletid. \u00d8en er en del af Natura 2000-omr\u00e5de nr. 109 Havet mellem Roms\u00f8 og Hindsholm samt Roms\u00f8<\/p>\n

I sommerperioden sejler Roms\u00f8b\u00e5den fra 1. april til 31. august, som er en hurtigg\u00e5ende passagerb\u00e5d, godkendt af S\u00f8fartsstyrelsen til 17 passagerer onsdag og l\u00f8rdag fra Kerteminde fiskerihavn til Roms\u00f8.<\/p>\n

Historie<\/h2>\n

\u00d8en blev f\u00f8rste gang n\u00e6vnt i kong Valdemars Jordebog fra 1231. I Erik Pontoppidans Danske Atlas fra omkring 1760 er der anf\u00f8rt en beboer og en dyrehave p\u00e5 \u00f8en.<\/p>\n
